november

I still can't believe that it's already November, the beautiful colors of the leaves have peaked and are now starting wane. I do have some good news, I finally started teaching last week. I didn't think I was going to ever get called. I taught fourth grade twice last week and it was a lot of fun! Tiring...but fun. Eric has been really busy with work, his hours are long so we look forward to the weekends where we have time together. He has a four day weekend this week because of Veteran's Day. I'm going to a women's bible study on Thursday mornings and I really like it a lot. I'm gleaning a lot of information from these wives who have been in the Corps for a long time. I praise God that he opened that door for me to meet new friends.

Tomorrow is the election, I'm really not too worried about it because no matter what happens, God is in control. He has the last say on everything! We put too much faith on man, knowing that we'll be disappointed time and time again. So, as for the election...pray about the outcome and pray that God's hand is in every step. Amen.

chili and nesting

What is better than chili and nesting? It's currently cold and rainy in Stafford and so we're going to cuddle up with our chili bowls this evening. Eric has the weekends off...praise the Lord! So we're able to spend time together. I went to Target today and got things for the baby, diaper genie, onesies, etc. It was fun going through the isle and picking things out for him. It's even better that I can mark those things off the list now. This afternoon I've been nestling around his room, organizing and getting everything ready. I'm so excited to meet the little guy!
We started attending a new church that we really like and we are now in a home group. What a blessing! It's a twenty somethings mixed group, and we really like it. We feel like we're finally getting roots here in Stafford. I'm also attending a ladies bible study on Thursday mornings at the chapel on base. It's wonderful because there are ladies that have been in the Marine Corps for a long time that have a lot of wisdom to impart. The Lord has his hand in all that we do! Well, that's all for now. Have a great weekend!

cool

Hello again! It's a beautiful day here in Stafford and I'm getting ready to go out for a brisk walk. I had my doctor's appointment yesterday and baby is doing very well. He's moved into a head down position and he's quickly running out of room! His heartbeat is strong also, thank goodness! Eric is home today because he did some paperwork early so we'll have the day together today. I've got to clean the house, work on thank you cards and a few other odds and ends. We got another issue of Newsweek with even more dismal political satire about the upcoming elections. Anyone else frustrated? Okay...God Bless!

new

I love autumn, the changing of the leaves and the smell in the air that signifies a new change. Autumn is the dying of the leaves and preparation for winter, but it's still new to me. I love it. I thank God that he gives us different seasons to enjoy...smart thinking Lord!
We've lived here in Stafford for over two months and we're enjoying it immensely. Eric started The Basic School today, so for the next six months he'll be learning and training to be a Marine Corps Officer. I'm so proud of him! I'm substitute teaching for the school district and anxiously anticipating the birth of our son. I've got only a couple of months left, and I'm enjoying every minute of being pregnant. It's an amazing experience! I have a doctor's appointment today, so I'll get to hear baby's heartbeat and see how he's progressing. We're meeting new friends and thankfully God has introduced us to several Christian friends. What a blessing! I'll continue to update on this blog and post pictures. God Bless!
